Why are we having this Celebration?

This celebration will provide the residents of Cache Valley the opportunity to see and appreciate their artwork. All of the artists have gallery representation -- mostly outside of Utah. This Celebration will be a homecoming of sorts for many of these artists by providing an opportunity for their work to be seen and purchased at home.

Why the treasure of artists in Cache Valley?

You would have to ask the artists why they choose to live in Cache Valley. Cache Valley is absolutely a beautiful place for an artist to work. I would also point out the powerful influence that Glen Edwards, retired Professor at Utah State University, has had in the development of many of these Cache Valley artists (and a number of others living elsewhere). Glen certainly has a legacy of former students that are now successful artists. He and his wife Barbara are both enjoying much success selling their own paintings in multiple galleries around the country.

Thanks to the artists!

Proceeds from the art sales will benefit the Alliance for the Varied Arts, the oldest arts center still in existence in Utah. I appreciate the artists giving back to the community. High school and University students have been invited to meet the artists and see the artwork. I hope that families will take advantage of this opportunity to visit the Thatcher-Young mansion and see the artwork. The artwork will hang from the July 11th Artist Reception through July 26th and is available for pre-sale prior to the reception.
