Jerry is well known for his paintings of the western landscape. A native of northern Utah, Jerry spends much of his painting time in the deep canyons of southern Utah or the rural landscapes of western United States.

Jerry's love of the landscape is also expressed through his many years of involvement as a professor and consultant in environmental planning. He has taught at major universities in Illinois, Utah, Minnesota and Ontario, Canada. He conceived and initiated the Native American Environmental Design Alliance, a program designed to promote educational opportunities for Native American students. Through his work with Native Americans, Jerry was honored by Utah State University as the recipient of the President's Diversity Award and the Martin Luther King Jr. Lifetime Service Award. He also received the Outstanding Service Award by the American Indian Council of Architects and engineers. As a consultant to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Jerry was directly involved in the master planning or over 20 national wildlife refuges.

His work has been featured in Southwest Art, Santa Fe-Taos Collectors guide and New Mexico Traveler magazine. He is represented by many fine art galleries throughout the western states. His work was recently exhibited in Osaka, London and New York as part of the One Heart-One World United Nations traveling art exhibit.
